Lobo Ibérico e Churra da Terra Quente / Iberian Wolf and Terra Quente Churra Sheep

Manteve-se a ovelha./This illustration is part of a series of illustrations created for a school book, done collectively with Catarina França and Filipe Franco. I was asked to represent a wolf attacking a sheep. Tried to argue claiming that this would probably be bad press for the wolves, and suggesting we could change the sheep for a European Roe-deer. But the decision was taken -- sheep it would be.

Canis lupus signatus, Ovis aries, Corvus corax

I have opted to depict a local breed of sheep and the Iberian sub-species of Wolf as it is my belief that these details carry extra value to the illustrations -- presenting and to a certain extent promoting local heritage, Natural heritage included.
